PDF Crochet pattern for the Bab Mittens. The mittens have a snug fit, tapered top and a big fluffy brim that’s accomplished by holding 2 strands of worsted weight mohair (or other fluffy yarn) that is accomplished by brushing the brim. The mitten is worked in two panels (mitten and thumb) from side to side, in alternating rows of yarn over slip stitch in the third loop and half double crochet in the back loop. You then sew the mitten, and work the brim in continuous rounds from the hat. It's made to measure. The pattern is is suitable for intermediate crocheters and up. Pattern is in English by default, but available in Swedish upon request.
SizeOne size. Sligthly adjustable depending on how you fold the brim.
I have large hands (for a woman), my middle finger is 8 cm long (+ fairly long acrylic nails) and they fit me snugly.
Materials
Yarn
Smooth worsted weight yarn (for the hat part) - approximately 120 meters. I used one ball of Tweed by Kit couture (50g/85m)
Fluffy, airy worsted weight yarn (for the brim) - approximately 140 meters (held double), I used one ball of Bella by Permin (50g/145m). Can be substituted for approximately 70 meters of chunky yarn.
