PDF Crochet pattern for the Egg Basket mockneck sweater. Pattern includes sizes S/M, L/XL and XXL/XXXL in three separate PDF files, all of which will be available to you if purchased. It features a gorgeous texture in the form of a classic basket weave, hip length body and an exaggerated sleeve that can be worn down or folded up. This pattern uses back post and front post half double crochet, with some decreases made. While not an advanced pattern, you should be somewhat experienced in crocheting and pattern reading, and comfortable with the stitches used.
This pattern is made with a 7mm hook and uses approximately and 2500 meters of DK/Light Worsted weight yarn for size L/XL. It is a written pattern with step by step instructions, no images for each step. It is in English and uses standard US terminology, with specifics given in both metric and imperial units.
The design is a collaboration between me and multiartist Saskia Cort, an influencer mostly known for her playful work in ceramics and no holds barred fashion sense. I reached out to Saskia with a collab request, and from there, some beautiful creativity sparked in both of us. In her own words
"I wanted to create a design that felt modern, cool and looks like I bought it from a high end store. At the same time, I wanted the pattern to be simple enough for a beginner to follow. With these things in mind, I settled on a slightly cropped, oversized mock neck sweater. Moa of Honse Design has translated my vision to both a real sweater and an easy to follow pattern. I hope you'll enjoy making this as much as we did!"
Inspired by her latest exhibition "Bon Bons & Fried Eggs", and the technique used to create the checkered structure, we decided to name this sweater "Egg Basket".
