Your new staple sweater!!! Designed exclusively for Mayflower, the lush, breezy Javelin Sweater has a straight fit, high neck and slightly dropped shoulder.

The main stitch is half double crochet v-stitch. It’s worked top down, starting at the back panel from which you later pick up the right and left shoulder. The front is then joined and when you reach the armpits the whole body is joined and you work the sweater in one panel. The sleeves are worked straight from the body and shaped with short rows. All openings are finished with yarn over slip stitch ribbings. All row counts are including the foundation chain.

As all Honse patterns it features a full size range, from chest size 75 cm to chest size 155 cm.

Difficulty: intermediate

The pattern is in English, but is available in Swedish over at mymayflower.se

Special techniques

Yarn over slip stitch: yarn over, insert hook in the advised loop, yarn over, pull yarn through all loops on hook.

Hdc v-stitch:

Foundation row: chain an odd number of sts

Set up row: turn, in the third st from hook, hdc 2, *skip the next st, in the st after that hdc 2*. Repeat *-* until you have 2 sts of the foundation ch left on row. Skip the next stitch, and in the final st hdc 1.

V-stitch row: turn, ch 2, in between the hdcs of the first “cluster” of the last row hdc 2, then proceed to work 2 hdcs in each “cluster” until you have one st left on row (this space is made up of the 2 ch formed when you worked in the third st on the set up row), in this st hdc 1.

The foundation row and the set up row are worked only once, while you repeat the v-stitch row for as long as the pattern states.
