A very heavy blanket for your very heavy days (we all get them)
Beginner friendly!
The pattern is in English, but is available in Swedish upon request.
One size
Approximately 120x180 cm
Materials
Hooked Zpagetti (700g/120m)
7700 g in total
Crochet hook: 12 mm
Other: Tapestry needle with a big enough eye.
Gauge
10x10cm: 8 sts by 5 rows in half double crochet through the back loop only on hook 12mm
Keep in mind that Hooked Zpagetti is a recycled yarn, and can have different thickness and length between batches and keeping gauge can be trickier than a more predictable yarn. Try to get as close as possible, but a stitch off is no biggie, the only thing that can happen is your blanket ending up slightly larger or smaller.
You can also make your own t-shirt yarn by cutting up old jersey clothes, there are loads of tutorials available on how to do that on the internet!
Techniques
Half double crochet - yarn over, insert hook in advised loop, yarn over and pull through first loop on hook, make another yarn over and pull through the first 2 loops on hook, yarn over and pull through all remaining loops on hook.
Yarn over slip stitch- yarn over, insert hook in advised loop, yarn over and pull through all loops on hook.
This pattern is worked in several steps, in order to not have the actual project be too hard to maneuver. You start by making 4 panels that are then attached to eachother by crocheting an edge and sewing that edge to the next panel. Finally a top and bottom edge are crocheted.
